What is a NOx Sensor Solution?
A NOx sensor solution is a software alteration that modifies the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to disable the Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) sensor, preventing dashboard warnings, engine limitations like limp mode, and ongoing costs from replacing faulty sensors. This is a permanent software fix but is only recommended for vehicles used off-road or outside of the UK, as it disables a component of the vehicle's emissions control system.
Why NOx Sensor Faults Happen
Faulty sensors: NOx sensors are prone to failure due to contaminants, electrical faults, and general wear. Costly replacements: when these sensors fail, they can be expensive to replace — and they often fail again. System malfunctions: faulty sensors trigger dashboard warning lights, lead to reduced engine power (limp mode), and cause system errors.
